Lifestyle Fund

A fund whose asset mix is determined according to the level of risk and return that is appropriate for an investor's current life situation.

Lifestyle funds can be conservative, moderate, or aggressive. Aggressive lifestyle funds would be targeted for investors in their late 20s while conservative lifestyle funds would be targeted for investors in their late 50s.

Lifestyle funds are designed to be the main investment in a person's portfolio. The purpose of a lifestyle fund is defeated if other funds are chosen at the same time because the allocation ratio would become distorted.
